TO THOSE IN RECOVERY
Brother James, OIC
In these Recovery Meetings there will be strong language about Total Recovery in Christ. In this looking intently into Rightly Dividing the Truth of Gods word it is not our intent to place any personal attack on anyone in other recovery programs whether they are step programs; self help groups, psychologies or modern religion. As Christians who have known repeated back-sliding's into negative and harmful addictions we've realized a need for more spiritual maintenance than most. In this we've come into one accord into the unity of the faith in the bond of the spirit to believe as first spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ:
"If you continue in my word then you are my disciples indeed and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free"
In the truth we've understood the darkness of iniquity, and the sin unto death it harbors. The mystery of God of His faith and godliness and the Living Hope of God's Promises which Faith & Patience delivers. We've come to understand our problems are not flesh an blood, but a spiritual enemy; Satan and his demonic armies.
Foremost as believers in Jesus Christ our fellowship is with other believers. Not in arrogance but in gratitude to God who called us though this light of truth and the deliverance we receive through the Blood of Christ in our daily fellowship recovery meetings.
And to the rest Jesus says:
"Blessed is he who is not offended by me."

WHAT IS ADDICTION?
When we hear the word addiction in today;s society it always brings about a negative thought. Addiction in its most base existence glares us in the face as it takes many of our children, our family members, our neighbors and us captive. Abuse of drugs (legal and illegal) imprisons many physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. Alcoholism claims its share of precious lives. Sex Addiction is producing deadlier strains of STD's. Children being birthed through some of these unwholesome alliances, having not yet been allowed a choice, are born to die with the disease of their parents. Food Addiction holds reign over obesity and "The Latest Trend" addictions are birthing deadly habits like eating disorders and other obsessions that end up controlling peoples lives. Addictions to possessions and money and racing after the elusive butterfly of ¨pseudo happiness¨ the world offers have caused many to never gain the path of life. Addiction to goals, even upon accomplishing them, many find their lives still empty. It´s this Empty Pit in our souls that ¨we think¨ tells us:¨I could be happy and content "IF ONLY I COULD" ...switch to this mate, achieve this goal, get this high, experience this thrill, own this possession, travel there, do this, do that...the list is endless as the cycle of defeat it fuels.
Addiction therefore defines itself as anything that controls and possesses us. And in its most deceptive form addiction reveals itself by Self Possession and Self Esteem, which is the Deadly Trap of Pride. But the word addiction does not have to be a bad thing. It is possible to be addicted to a good thing. Addictions are habits and habits can be either good or bad.....

Preamble:
Celebrating Jesus - Total Recovery Meetings is a fellowship of Christian Believers, who desire, through the Unity of our Faith in Jesus Christ to remain free from the bondage's of sin and its cycle of defeat. Of which in times past imprisoned us in the corruption that in the world through lust: physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Renouncing the hidden things of darkness we've come to know and depend on the Light of Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life, understanding that no one goes to God the Father but through Him. Meeting daily we seek wholeheartedly to live in and by God's Wisdom and Understanding of Truth that comes from His Word - The Holy Bible. Encouraging each other daily to forget the things of the past and to press forward, to each, in their high call of God in Christ Jesus - Our Lord!
Many of us have been lukewarm in our faith. Others have blindly known the Depths of Satan by following after false doctrines and false solutions of man made religions; psychologies and philosophies of men, self help and step programs to no avail. All of us in times past having had Opposed Ourselves were thus being taken captive of Satan at his will. Others have been abused, neglected or traumatized having been improperly trained or not trained at all in the Way of Jesus Christ.
Having now learned to consciously forgive those who have wronged us, trusting in Gods Promise that in forgiving others in Christ, God then forgives us and begins a healing and restoration in our lives. Still more of us were on the path of total self destruction trapped in the negative addiction of drugs, alcohol, sexual immorality, and idolatry, having done damage not only to our own selves but also to many around us. In this we seek God in Christ to open doors for us to make amends and restitution's where needed. Discovering in many instances God has already worked healing of the hurts we caused and forgiveness of the restitution owed. In others God allowing the restitution to turn to them as a testimony in Christ.
Jesus Christ commands us to ¨Deny ourselves and pick up our crosses daily and follow Him¨ and Promises that ¨If we continue in His Word that we will know the Truth and the Truth will Make Us Free.¨ We believe the Truth in Christ begins a work of God in us; a surgery, recovery and growth to total positive change as His Word is received in understanding. This conversion we know is the Spirit of Christ being formed in us. Thus we discover that as our Self Centeredness and Self Esteem decreases His Divine Nature and Power Increases in us. This work of Truth is by the Spirit of Truth Who is the Holy Spirit Whom God gives to those who obey His Word.
Having the pasts that we've had we've admitted our need for more Spiritual Maintenance in Christ than most. These Daily Meetings are designed to offer support, direction, fellowship and friendships needed for us to remain free from the negative addictions of sin and on the path of eternal and abundant life in Jesus Name having to this end a:

2Pe 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2Pe 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
2Pe 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2Pe 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2Pe 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
